The VSG is blended exclusively for Ashton by Carlos Fuente Jr. using 4 to 5 year old aged Dominican tobacco taken from the finest and most fertile plants. The distinct flavor of VSG comes from its wrapper grown on a private estate in Ecuador owned by the Oliva family where this proprietary wrapper leaf is grown for the Fuente Family exclusively for Ashton VSG. The leaf is taken from the higher primings and matures slowly by sunlight filtered through the region's natural cloud covering. Nub Connecticut 358Oliva Cigar Co. redefined what a short and stubby cigar is all about with the introduction of the Nub line in early 2008. Inspired by Oliva sales representative Sam Leccia, it was initially offered in three wrapper styles: Connecticut (grown in Ecuador; 33⁄4 x 54, 33⁄4 x 58, 4 x 60 and 4 x 64 torpedo, medium-bodied), Cameroon (33⁄4 x 58, 4 x 60, 4 x 64 torpedo and 4 x 66 box-pressed torpedo, medium-bodied) and Nicaraguan-grown Habano (33⁄4 x 58, 4 x 60, 4 x 64 torpedo, 4 x 66, medium-to-full in body). The Brazilian-grown maduro-wrapped shapes (4 x 60 and 4 x 64 torpedo) were added in 2009.
