The Gurkha brand has been around, in one form or another, since 1887.
That’s as long as the Gurkhas, a Nepalese tribe who fought for the
British in World Wars I and II, have been around. The cigar brand
started in 1989 and includes a constantly-changing variety of blends
and strengths. Production of most blends was moved from the Dominican
Republic to Honduras in 2007.
The Grand Reserve shows a mild-to-medium body in bronze wax-sealed glass tubes offered in a vertical wood display, with a Connecticut wrapper, all Dominican filler and a light finish thanks to a touch of Louis XIII Cognac.
